Russian Presidential Press Secretary: Is pushing the European Union to endorse Russia’s Coronavirus vaccine against politicizing the process

by YCPress

july 8th, local time, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is pushing for eu approval of the Russian Coronavirus vaccine, but this is a complex and arduous task.

Earlier in the day, the European Union’s ambassador to Russia, Marcus Edelel, said the EU had proposed to Russia to jointly explore the inclusion of the new Russian Coronavirus vaccine in the EU’s vaccination certification system.

Peskov said Russia has been pushing for EU approval of Russia’s Coronavirus vaccine, which is a complex and arduous task. Russia’s coronavirus vaccine, including the “Sputnik V” vaccine, has some effect even for variant coronaviruses. But in practice, Russia’s “Sputnik V” vaccine has not yet been certified by the European Medicines Agency because of differences of position. Work is continuing, but the task is daunting. If political bias and political lobbying can be eliminated, the Russian vaccine will be accepted.

Peskov stressed in particular that Russia’s certification of vaccines in various countries is carried out in accordance with specific procedures, and that Russia opposes politicization of the work and any political lobbying against unfair competition.
