Sergei Saviliev, deputy general manager of the Russian National Space Group, said on December 1 that on behalf of the Russian National Space Group, he congratulated the successful landing of the ‘Ev5 probe launched by his Chinese counterparts on the lunar surface. He believes that the landing of the Chinese probe on the moon is of historical significance.
“There is no doubt that this is a historic event for China’s space program. For the first time in the history of their space research, colleagues of China’s National Space Administration have landed on the lunar surface with a resurer. The main mission of this probe is to bring the soil of the moon back to Earth.”
Saviliev also said that lunar exploration projects are one of the priority directions for space science research in many countries. China and Russia have been exploring cooperation in this field. Finally, he wished his Chinese counterparts a successful completion of the mission and the successful return of lunar soil to Earth.
