Russian Satellite News Agency reported on December 9 that the Russian Federal Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, said at a meeting with the leaders of the Russian armed forces on December 9 that the Russian army will receive another 100,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine by the end of 2020.
“In order to increase vaccinations, there are plans to receive 100,000 more doses of vaccines by the end of the year,” Shoigu said.
He said that the Russian Ministry of Defense had previously received 14,500 doses of vaccines and distributed them to the military regions, the Northern Fleet and the central organs of the Ministry of Defense.
At present, more than 8,500 officers and soldiers have been vaccinated.
He added that the number of laboratories in the Ministry of Defense and various military agencies that can confirm the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection has increased sevenfold since April, and can be tested 6,000 times a day.
