February 21st According to a report by the Russian Sputnik News Agency on the 20th, Anatoly Antonov, the Russian ambassador to the United States, said that Russia had sent a request to the Biden administration of the United States to start contact for the first time.

Antonov said on the 20th: “We have sent a request [to the White House] to organize the first contact and study the work that the two sides can do together.” Antonov said he thought the pressure on Russia would continue, but Russia would continue to promote pragmatic cooperation with the United States in many fields such as the Iran nuclear agreement.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia was ready to comprehensively review its relationship with the United States and analyze what legacy Biden’s team would retain from the previous government.

The Russian Foreign Office said that the two sides have only contacted the purpose of “building rapport”, including a call between Russian President Putin and Biden, and discussions between Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Blinken.
