December 31st – Russian TV reported on the 30th today that the Russian Federation’s Biomedical Agency (FMBA) announced that it was developing a drug against COVID-19. Preclinical trials showed that it was more than 99% effective, and it was likely to become the world’s first anti-coronavirus drug.
On the 30th, local time, Veronica Skwortsova, director of the FMBA, said in a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mishustin that so far, research has shown that the efficacy of the drug has exceeded 99%, and completed preclinical research shows that the drug is “completely safe” and “efficient”.
Skwortsova said that the FMBA is ready to apply for further testing permission, hoping to be approved before the New Year. This drug is etiological and can directly affect the virus. It is actually an antidote to COVID-19 infection. At present, there is no similar drug in the world.
In addition, the FMBA is also studying another formulation, a drug that prevents or inhibits cytokine reactions in the most complex cases of COVID-19 infection.
