Russia has suffered the largest snowfall in 50 years in recent days.
In order to clear the snow faster, the number and cost of snow removal tools purchased by Russians have increased significantly compared with last year.
According to a survey conducted by OFD, Russia’s largest financial data operation platform, Russia’s Opinion reported on the 16th that Russians’ average expenditure on snow shovels increased the most last week, at 46%, reaching 437 rubles.
he average increase in spending on snow removers is 31%, reaching 35,000 roubles.
It is understood that the snow thickness in Moscow last week was as high as 59 centimeters, and the snow thickness in Moscow Oblast reached 72 centimeters, nearly twice the normal snowfall.
As a result, the demand for snow removal tools in parts of Russia has increased significantly.
Moscow deputy mayor Peter Bilyukov said that the city has had a lot of snowfall in the past few days, and about 12 million cubic meters of snow have been transported from Moscow streets to melting snow spots.
At present, the snow removal work in the city is still continuing.
OFD also pointed out that in mid-January this year, when there was a peak snowfall in Moscow and central Russia, the sales of snow removal tools also increased significantly.
