Russia has banned eight EU and member state officials, including the president of the European Parliament, from entering the country

May 1 2021 The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on April 30 that it has banned eight officials from the European Union and its member states from entering Russia, including European Parliament President Sassoli.

Sources say the EU continues to unilaterally impose restrictions on Russian citizens and organizations. In response to Russia’s belief that the EU’s practices are contrary to the CHARTER of the United Nations and international law, Russia decided to ban sassoli and eight other EU and member state officials from entering the country.

Western media continue to spread unsubstantiated information about Russia, and all Russian proposals for professional dialogue aimed at resolving Russian-European relations have been ignored or rejected, the sources said.

The EU’s actions reveal its aim of limiting Russia’s development at all costs and openly challenging Russia’s independence from foreign affairs and internal affairs, the sources said. This is the stage on which the United States, with the knowledge and encouragement of the United States, has transformed Europe into a world of geopolitical confrontation.
