December 18th – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday (17th) local time that he was confident that the next U.S. government will abandon the sanctions policy against the Iranian people, and that the U.S. government will also yield to the resistance of Iran’s “national power” and people.
According to a report by Iranian English TV on the 17th, Rouhani made the above statement at the launching ceremony of several development plans of the Iranian Ministry of the Interior that day.
Rouhani stressed the importance of national unity in Iran, “It is this kind of national unity that empowers us and forces the enemy to submit to the rights of the people.”
Rouhani said he believed that the heroic perseverance of the Iranian nation would make the next U.S. government yield to the Iranian people, and that this unswerving attitude will force the United States to restore its commitments in the Iran nuclear agreement and cause the collapse of the U.S. sanctions policy against Iran.
In July 2015, Iran and the six countries on the Iranian nuclear issue reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue. According to the agreement, Iran promised to limit its nuclear program, and the international community will lift sanctions against Iran.
In May 2018, the current U.S. government announced its withdrawal from the Iran nuclear agreement, and then gradually resumed the sanctions suspended by the agreement, and required other countries to comply with the measures of the United States sanctions against Iran.
However, the term of office of the current U.S. government is about to expire, and the attitude of the next U.S. government towards the Iran nuclear agreement has attracted outside attention.
Biden, the “president-elect” of the United States, said that the United States would be willing to return to the Iran nuclear agreement. In view of the sanctions imposed by the current U.S. government on Iran, Iran requires the next U.S. government to take unconditional action to return to the Iran nuclear agreement.
