Responding to domestic tensions Armenian President visits Russia in his personal capacity

28th Nov, the Presidential Press Office of Armenia issued a statement stating that President Sarki left Yerevan, the capital, for a private visit to Moscow, Russia.

The statement stated that Sarkis will hold talks with representatives of the Armenian nationals and communities in Russia to discuss the peace process in the Naka region and the current domestic situation in Armenia.

Since the 9th of this month, the Naka ceasefire agreement signed by Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan caused political turmoil in Asia, and the opposition demanded Pashinyan to step down.

On the 26th, the Armenian parliament refused to cancel the previous national martial law, triggering a new round of protests. The opposition originally planned to launch a vote of no confidence against Pashinyan after martial law was lifted.

On the 9th of this month, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a statement announcing a complete ceasefire in the Naka region from 0:00 Moscow time (5:00 Beijing time) on November 10th.

Currently, Russia has completed the deployment of peacekeepers in the Naka region in accordance with the statement. The situation on the ground has stabilized, and refugees are returning home one after another.
