The Johor Public Works Bureau of Malaysia issued a statement on the 2nd local time that as of noon that day, the rainfall had continued for more than 24 hours, causing the river to rise in the Xinshan area, flooding in many low-lying areas, and some sections of the road were flooded by the river and impassable.

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department said that two temporary evacuation centers have been activated to settle the affected people, and as of 11 noon on the 2nd, 275 people from 66 families had been admitted.
