President of Iceland announces the isolation of his official residence and staff members

November 4 According to the office of Icelandic President Goodny Johannesson

after a staff member in the presidential residence tested positive for Coronavirus

Johannesson will be quarantined until November 9.

According to CNN, Johannesson’s office stated in a statement on the

3rd that the president currently has no symptoms of infection and his family does not need to be isolated.

Iceland has strengthened restrictions on Coronavirus pandemic since

October 31, trying to control the increase in the number of daily diagnoses. 

The new regulations include a gathering of no more than 10 people and a ban on all sports activities, etc

which will last until November 17. At present

Iceland has reported 4,957 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 17 deaths.
