According to data released by a South African polling agency on the 22nd local time, only 52% of the people surveyed were willing to get the coronavirus vaccine, and only 11% of them believed that the coronavirus vaccine was safe.

Most of the respondents said that the short vaccine development cycle and the possible adverse reactions reported by the media were their biggest concerns.

In South Africa, women and young people under the age of 35 expressed resistance to the epidemic prevention and control measures promulgated by the government, while most of the people living in rural areas did not believe in the media coverage of the coronavirus epidemic and were less aware of wearing masks and social distancing.

Some experts pointed out that further popular science and vaccine safety knowledge related to the epidemic to the South African people is also an important part of the South African government’s epidemic prevention work.
