According to the American short news website Axios on January 21, the trust of the American people in traditional media has fallen to an all-time low, and many journalists are determined to take action.
For the first time in history, less than half of Americans trust traditional media, while the public trusts social media at a record low of 27%, according to exclusive information obtained by Axio.
56% of Americans agree that “journalists deliberately mislead the audience by saying something that is known to be false or seriously exaggerated”.
58% of people believe that “most news organizations are more concerned about supporting an ideology or political position than providing information to the public.”
Trust deteriorated further when Edelman Company re-investigated Americans after the election, with 57% of Democrats trusting the media, compared with only 18% of Republicans.
