December 22, Polish President Duda told the Polish media that he was ready to be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus and join the Polish national coronavirus vaccination program.
He stressed that he recently talked to experts and doctors, who said that only vaccination can defeat the coronavirus epidemic as soon as possible.
Duda also recalled his exposure to the novel coronavirus, saying that despite no serious symptoms and no life-threatening, he became weak and clearly felt that it was not the ordinary flu in the weeks after the infection.
Duda also stressed that the COVID-19 epidemic is devastating to society as a whole and that all measures must be taken to eliminate it as soon as possible. He also agreed with Prime Minister Morawiecki’s partial statement that vaccination is a patriotic obligation.
Duda said that the national COVID-19 vaccination program is voluntary and absolutely not mandatory. But from the perspective of saving the country’s economy and putting the country on track, it is a patriotic obligation to be vaccinated by Polish nationals in a sense.
Poland will start the first batch of vaccinations on December 27.
On the 26th, 10,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in Poland and be transported to 72 medical institutions.
Medical staff were the first batch of vaccinations.
