April 23rd, local time, the Polish Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Russia’s announcement of the expulsion of five Polish diplomats.

The statement said the move was another example of Russia’s aggressive policies and was deliberate and aimed at inflaming relations with neighbouring countries and the international community as a whole.

The statement said that Poland has always advocated dialogue to prevent the escalation of the situation, under the current circumstances, Poland reserves the right to respond appropriately to the decision of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On the 15th of this month, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement announcing the expulsion of three diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Poland on the grounds that they were engaged in activities inconsistent with their status as diplomats and endangering Poland.

In addition, in the statement on the 15th, Poland also expressed its full support for the United States on the same day to impose large-scale sanctions on Russia and the expulsion of 10 Russian diplomats.

On 23 April, Russia responded to Poland’s decision to expel three diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Poland by announcing the expulsion of five diplomats from the Polish Embassy in Poland and restricting their departure by 15 May.
