by YCPress

On April 6, Philippine Defense Minister Lorenzana issued a statement saying that he had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Lorenzana said that he was informed on April 6 that he had tested positive for nucleic acid and currently has no symptoms. Lorenzana said that he would quarantine according to the relevant regulations to avoid infecting others. He pleaded with people who had recently come into contact with him to also conduct isolation and nucleic acid testing. Lorenzana said that because of the infectious nature of the mutant virus, people are called on to abide by health regulations, wear masks and masks as required, and maintain social distancing.

The Philippine Department of Defense will remain operational while streamlining its personnel.
