Pfizer was exposed to suspend the supply of coronavirus vaccine to Israel due to arrears of vaccine fees.

April 6th Israel’s Jerusalem Post reported on the 5th that Pfizer has suspended the delivery of the next batch of vaccines to the country because Israel has not paid for the latest batch of coronavirus vaccines.

The report pointed out that Israel did not pay for the last batch of 2.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccine, which caused dissatisfaction.

Pfizer executives said they were worried that the transitional government would not pay during the Israeli election and did not want to be “opted”.

On the 4th, a batch of 700,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine was supposed to arrive in Israel, but it has now been postponed.

Pfizer told the Jerusalem Post that they had completed all deliveries of the coronavirus vaccine under the preliminary agreement with Israel in November 2020.

It is reported that Israel has paid for 10 million doses of received vaccines, but when there was a shortage of supplies in February, the two sides reached an agreement to continue to supply additional vaccines, and the cost of the latest 2.5 million doses of vaccines has not been paid.

At present, the Israeli Ministry of Health has not responded to this.

According to the report, the Ministry of Health had previously planned to purchase more than 30 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, but the meeting on the matter was cancelled last week due to a dispute between Prime Minister Netanyahu and alternate Prime Minister Gantz.
