Pfizer asked Brazilian regulators for full approval of a coronavirus vaccine

According to Al Jazeera on February 7, Brazil’s health regulator said on Saturday that Pfizer has applied to the government for full approval of the coronavirus vaccine.

Pfizer vaccine is the second vaccine to apply for full approval from Brazil after AstraZeneca submitted a full approval application on January 29.

Pfizer is working with the Fiocruz Biomedical Center, which is funded by the Brazilian federal government, to produce a coronavirus vaccine.

Brazil has approved the emergency use of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and China’s Coxing vaccine, and began vaccination activities in mid-January, but the promotion of the vaccine has encountered problems due to delays in the transportation of raw materials.

Pfizer said that its vaccine is 95% overall and 94 percent for people over 65 years old.
