According to the New York Times on the 25th, on Thursday local time, a doctor in Boston, USA, developed a severe allergic reaction a few minutes after being vaccinated against Moderna, becoming the first allergic case reported after Moderna vaccine was launched in the United States.

The doctor who reported allergic reactions was Hossein Sadrzadeh, a geriatric oncologist at Boston Medical Center.

Sadrzad himself has a severe allergy to shellfish, and he said he felt severe reactions, including dizziness and rapid heartbeat, almost immediately after vaccination.

Sadrzad was taken to the emergency room for treatment and observation after being allowed to inject EpiPen on his own, a spokesperson for the Boston Medical Center said. At present, Sadrzad has recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Previously, New York City, the first vaccinator to have serious adverse reactions after vaccination against Pfizer, was a medical staff.

New York City said it would continue to track cases of severe adverse reactions after vaccination in cooperation with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It is reported that federal agencies are investigating at least six cases of allergic reactions related to the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.

But at present, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not determined whether an ingredient in the vaccine causes allergic reactions. Earlier this month, some British health workers also had allergic reactions after being vaccinated against Pfizer.
