February 2nd local time, the U.S. Senate passed the appointment of Pete Buttigieg as Minister of Transport by 86 votes to 13.

Local media said that the role of the transportation secretary is expected to play a central role in Biden’s push for a series of bipartisan infrastructure plans.

The Senate, which is reportedly to vote later in the day, has confirmed the appointment of Alejandro Mayocas as the Secretary of Homeland Security.
