Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations: The pressure exerted by the United States on Iran will not succeed. It should immediately return and implement the Iran nuclear agreement.

According to an ICBC News Agency, on December 22nd local time, the United Nations Security Council held a video public meeting on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Majid Ravanhi, made a speech on the Iran nuclear agreement, U.S. sanctions and the assassination of a nuclear scientist Fakrizad.

In his speech, Ravanhi said that according to UN Security Council resolution 2231, the Iran nuclear agreement is an initiative to “provide a comprehensive, long-term and appropriate solution to the Iranian nuclear issue” to establish new relations with Iran and promote “regular economic and trade with Iran and economic cooperation and interaction”.

He mentioned that the signing of the Iran nuclear agreement has gone through very complex negotiations, including difficult trade-offs and trade-offs, so any proposal to modify, rearrange or extend the content of the agreement is contrary to United Nations Security Council resolution 2231, which Iran cannot accept.

The withdrawal of the United States from the Iran nuclear agreement and the reimposed sanctions on Iran violate United Nations Security Council resolution 2231 and the relevant provisions of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

He said that in the past four years, the United States has imposed more than 1,500 sanctions on all sectors of Iran’s economy, and sanctions may continue to increase during the current U.S. government.

This is actually an all-out war to replace weapons by economic means. He mentioned that sanctions have prevented the import of humanitarian goods from Iran, such as specific medical equipment and medicines.

The United States’ claim that humanitarian supplies are exempt from sanctions is a complete lie, and that the sanctions are not targeted at the Iranian people, but pure hypocrisy. Sanctions not only cause economic difficulties in Iran, but also lead to the death of innocent people. U.S. sanctions are illegal, immoral, inhumane and cruel, and are economic terrorism and crimes against humanity.

Ravanhi mentioned that sanctions are only part of the bullying and sabotage of Iran by the United States, and the United States has also committed such acts as military risk, interference in Iran’s internal affairs and a series of other provocations.

One of the most intuitive examples is the brutal assassination of Suleimani by the United States under the direct order of the President of the United States, a terrorist act that is a serious violation of international law.

In addition, there are important clues that Israel, a close ally of the United States in the region, carried out the assassination of Fakrizad, a famous Iranian scientist, and the terrorist acts of assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists have occurred before.

Ravanshi said that Iran is grateful for the valuable support of the members of the United Nations Council, which is not only limited to the Iran nuclear agreement, but also supports multilateralism and opposes unilateralism and bullying.

He mentioned that the United States should be clear that the policy of intimidation and pressure on Iran will not succeed, and the only solution is to return immediately, completely and unconditionally and implement the Iran nuclear agreement.

Iranian officials have made it clear that Iran will also fulfill its duties if the parties concerned to the Iran nuclear agreement unconditionally, effectively and fully implement their obligations.

Finally, Ravanhi said that Western countries continue to send weapons to the region, turning the Middle East into a “gunpowder barrel”, which aims to undermine regional peace and stability.

Iran is willing to cooperate, unite closely and resolve differences with its regional neighbors.
