January 11th – Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Pelosi said that an impeachment clause against Trump had been drafted under the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, and the impeachment bill would be submitted to the Senate.
According to the New York Post on the 10th, the impeachment clause is accusing Trump of inciting his supporters to launch riots at the U.S. Capitol last week.
The House of Representatives will vote on impeachment as early as this week. “The House strongly supports a second impeachment of the president,” Pelosi said in an interview.
Pelosi also said she supported Vice President Pence invoking the 25th Amendment, which allowed Pence to remove Trump from office before he was impeached.
