According to a Yonhap report on the 1st, South Korean government officials said today that South Korea will require all foreign immigrants to provide negative coronavirus test reports before arrival from next Friday.
The Korean Department of Disease Management (KDCA) announced that foreign immigrants must be tested for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for COVID-19 within 72 hours before arriving in South Korea and produce a negative report.
The regulations on airport arrivals will be implemented next Friday, and the regulations on port passenger ship arrivals will begin on January 15.
The daily number of virus infections in South Korea has remained at about 1,000, mainly due to large-scale mass infections in churches, private gatherings and correctional institutions.
