February 23rd – In order to combat street crime, the police in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city, set up an armed roller skating team and undergo strict training.

The team members are under training.

“In order to control street crime, we need to innovate,” said Roller Skating Squad leader Farouk Ali.

He also said that roller skating police officers can efficiently track down criminals riding motorcycles.

However, he also admitted that roller skating police were unable to carry out their tasks in the poor road conditions of Karachi city.

Roller skating police officers will be equipped with pistols.

The first 20 members of the roller skating team are currently under training and are expected to officially take up their posts starting next month.
