Turkey’s disaster and emergency management agency released the latest data on November 3, local time.
Since the Aegean earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 on October 30, the number of people killed in Turkey has risen to 102 and another 994 have been injured.
On the fourth day of the search and rescue, another three-year-old girl was rescued. This was the 107th person rescued after the earthquake.
The girl named Aida has been trapped in the ruins of a collapsed building in Izmir for 91 hours.
After being rescued, she kept shouting “My mother is still inside! Please save her”.
Aida is currently in good health and is staying in hospital for observation, but according to the search and rescue team, Aida’s mother has been found, but there is no sign of life. In addition, at least 7 to 8 people were trapped in the building.
At present, search and rescue activities are advancing rapidly, and there are still 4 severely collapsed buildings waiting to be further cleaned and rescued.
In addition, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency also released the latest data on aftershocks. Up to now, more than 3,300 aftershocks have occurred, with the highest magnitude reaching 5.1.
Many volunteers and non-governmental organizations from other provinces and cities have also joined the disaster relief activities.
