Norway, Denmark announce closure of embassies in Afghanistan to evacuate personnel

On August 13, local time, Norwegian Radio and Television Corporation (nrk) reported that the Norwegian government decided to evacuate all employees of the Norwegian Embassy in Afghanistan and temporarily close the embassy.

It is reported that the Danish Embassy in Kabul also announced that it will temporarily close. Danish Foreign Minister Shepherd said the withdrawal of personnel in Afghanistan will begin immediately due to the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan, Danish Radio and Television (DR) reported Wednesday.

It is reported that although all embassies are located in Kabul’s heavily guarded security zone, but the embassy area still has a number of attacks.
