New Zealand Immigration Service issued a new policy again-overseas applications for temporary visas will be postponed.

Currently, most overseas applications for temporary visas have been suspended.

The Immigration Bureau stated that the time limit for suspension of applications will be postponed to February 2021.

However, visa applications for the following temporary entry categories will not be affected:

Visa application for spouse and dependent children sponsored by New Zealand citizens/residents;

Visa applications for diplomatic, consular and officials and their attendants;

Antarctic travel and sightseeing visa and Antarctic work visa;

A seasonal employment visa (RSE) of a prescribed category.

This policy was introduced on August 10 to prevent entry of people who do not meet the current border control restrictions.

The New Zealand government will evaluate the suspension of the application policy every month.
