New Zealand Defence Force to withdraw from Afghanistan by the end of May

February 17, local time, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced in a statement that New Zealand would withdraw its IDF troops from Afghanistan by the end of May 2021.

It is reported that New Zealand began to send troops to Afghanistan after the events of September 11, and at the largest number, 3,500 soldiers were deployed in Afghanistan.

In the past 20 years, a total of 10 New Zealand soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan.

Currently, six New Zealand Defence Force personnel are serving in Afghanistan.
