February 12 New Zealand Prime Minister Ardern announced on the 12th that a coronavirus vaccine approved by the New Zealand Cabinet will start on February 20.

This is the first coronavirus vaccine approved by the New Zealand government, developed by Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company of the United States in cooperation with the German Biotech Company.

Ardern said that the coronavirus vaccine will arrive in New Zealand next week.

Starting on the 20th, about 12,000 border workers will be vaccinated first, followed by close family contacts of the first vaccinated people, as well as medical staff, essential industry employees and high-risk groups.

Border workers who are unwilling to be vaccinated will face job adjustments.
