Following the implementation of the “partial lockdown” for three weeks, the Dutch local time on the 11th and 3rd tightened the pandemic prevention measures again.

Dutch Prime Minister Rutte announced at a press conference held that evening that from 10 pm on the 4th, playgrounds, cinemas, community centers, museums and theaters across the country will be closed for two weeks.

Beginning on October 14, the Netherlands entered a period of at least four weeks of “partial lockdown”, during which all restaurants, cafes and bars in the country remained closed.

Rutte said that the “partial closure of the city” measures have already yielded initial results, and the pandemic prevention and control is moving in the right direction, but the situation has not improved fast enough, so the government has to take further pandemic prevention measures.

Rutte also said that the Dutch government is currently considering implementing more stringent pandemic prevention measures in some severely affected areas, including imposing curfews and closing schools, and the government will make a decision on this soon.

The data released by the National Institute of Public Health and Environment of the Netherlands on the same day showed that the Netherlands had 7776 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, which was 15% less than the average daily number of new cases in the previous 7 days. Decline for the fourth consecutive day.
