Nepal’s famous climber has set a new world record by climbing Mount Everest for the 25th time

May 7 2021 Nepal’s famous climber Kami Rita Sherpa successfully climbed Mount Everest on Friday. It was also the 25th time in his career that he had climbed Mount Everest, breaking his own world record for the most individual summits.

Local media quoted Nepal’s Seven Peaks Mountaineering Company as saying he climbed Mount Everest that evening.

This climbing season, Nepali officials issued permits to 44 mountaineering teams to climb Mount Everest. This year’s Mount Everest climbing season has attracted particular attention because of recent cases of new cases of coronavirus infection at the Base Camp on the Nepalese side.

In 1994, 24-year-old Kami Rita Sherpa first climbed Mount Everest, according to public records. In May 2017, he climbed Mount Everest for the 21st time, sharing the world record of 21 individual summits with Apa Sherpa and Puba Tassie Sherpa.
