Since 25 December, clashes between the Shan South Army and the De’ang National Armed Forces have continued near the Kyaukmai Township in Shan State in northern Myanmar. Especially since 27 December, the conflict has intensified.

As of 29th, more than 600 local civilians have fled their homes, and most of them have been temporarily placed in nearby temples. .

According to Saikai, spokesman of the Southern Shan Army, on December 25, the De’ang National Armed Forces suddenly launched an attack on it. In recent days, the two sides have clashed nine times.
