According to Myanmar media reports, Sean Tener, the economic adviser to Myanmar’s senior government, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, was recently detained.

He was also the first foreigner to be arrested after the Burmese military took over state power.

At present, the reason for his detention is not known.

Sean Tenell is an economics professor at Sydney Macquarie University and has been providing economic policy advice to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for many years.
