According to the Myanmar Civil Aviation Authority, Myanmar will resume domestic flights on December 16. Previously, due to the second round of coronavirus outbreak, Myanmar suspended domestic flights in the last week of September, which has been nearly three months.

Myanmar tourism industry personnel said that since Myanmar still has several cities implementing travel restrictions, fewer passengers are expected at the beginning of the restart. It is understood that Myanmar currently has six airlines operating domestic flights.

Myanmar will resume international commercial passenger flights on January 1 next year.

According to the Myanmar Civil Aviation Administration, Myanmar will resume the operation of international commercial passenger flights on January 1, 2021, and the relevant epidemic prevention regulations will be announced in the near future.

After the first confirmed case of COVID-19 on March 23, 2020, the Myanmar government issued a flight restriction order on March 29, suspending the operation of international commercial passenger flights, and then only reserved rescue and cargo flights with many countries.

As of the evening of December 11, a total of 107,215 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed, 2,245 have died and 85,406 have been cured.
