February 12th local time, the United Nations Human Rights Council held an emergency meeting and adopted a Myanmar-related resolution, including condemning the Myanmar military, demanding the speedy release of state leaders, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, refraining from violence against demonstrators, and hoping to respect the will of the people of Myanmar.

U Mindu, Myanmar’s representative in Geneva, expressed his rejection of the resolution to the Human Rights Council.

U Min-du said before the emergency meeting that the current situation in Myanmar is chaotic and that the military’s behavior is not to undermine democratic achievements.
