Myanmar police add charges against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi under the Myanmar Disaster Management Law

February 16th local time, Myanmar added charges against Myanmar’s senior government, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, under article 25 of the Myanmar Disaster Management Law.

According to this law, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi can be sentenced to imprisonment of not more than three years, or a fine, which is understood to have been heard by the Neybbid Zebdiri Town Court.

Myanmar President Wen Min was also prosecuted under article 25 of the Myanmar Disaster Management Law, and his appearance is scheduled for March 1.

Previously, because of the search for illegally imported walkie-talkies at the residence of State Senior Executive Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Nei-du, the violation of the law is punishable by imprisonment or fine of not more than three years, or imprisonment and fine under section 8 of the Myanmar Import and Export Law.

The Central Executive Committee of the NLD has appointed lawyer Chinmanzo to defend Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President Wen Min.
