Moroccan navy intercepts 50 stowaways in the Mediterranean Sea

Rabat, November 26th According to Moroccan media reports on the 26th, the coast guard affiliated with the Moroccan navy intercepted 50 stowaways in the Mediterranean Sea on the 25th.

The official Moroccan news agency quoted military sources as reporting that the Moroccan Coast Guard intercepted a ship with 50 stowaways from sub-Saharan countries in the waters near the northern city of Nazur.

The Coast Guard found the remains of two women and two babies on board, and provided necessary rescue to some of the ship’s ill health.

Morocco and Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar, the ferry between the two places is about 40 minutes.

Traveling from Morocco to Spain is one of the main routes for illegal immigrants to Europe.
