January 5th local time, the briefing of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Thailand revealed that during the seven-day 

New Year’s holiday from December 29, 2020 to January 4, 2021, more than 3,300 traffic accidents occurred in Thailand

resulting in 3,326 injuries and 392 deaths, an increase of 5% over the same period last year.

Speeding is the main cause of accidents, accounting for 33.6%, followed by drunk driving, accounting for 33.1%.
