The meeting of the Mongolian government decided on December 9 to extend the national alert status of epidemic prevention and control in Ulaanbaatar City, Selenge Province and Houhangai Province for three days to 6:00 on December 14.

Except for the extension of national alert in Batzinggrad County, Later Hangai Province, Alatan Prague County and Sukhbatr County in Seleng Province, which was extended to 6:00 on December 21, the epidemic prevention and control level in other provinces and cities has been lowered to a high alert since 6:00 on December 14.

Under the condition of ensuring epidemic prevention and obtaining permission, 34 industries such as catering, food, construction, taxis and so on resumed business.

At 11:00 on the same day, Ambaselma, director of the Laboratory Department of the National Infectious Diseases Research Center of Mongolia, reported at a regular press conference of the Ministry of Health that in the past 24 hours, three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Seleng Province, two new medical staff of the National Infectious Disease Research Center, 893 confirmed cases, and a total of 3 new cases were cured.

84 cases. A total of 893 cases include 383 imported from abroad, 443 cases related to the mainland, 49 cases in the capital “Enhsaren” sanatorium, 15 medical staff from the National Infectious Disease Research Center, and 3 cases in the military central hospital.

At present, there are a total of 443 locally related cases, 128 in Ulaanbaatar, 207 in Selenge Province, 45 in Darhan Ula Province, 25 in Orkhun Province, 31 in Eastern Gobi Province, 4 in Gobi Sumbuir Province and 3 in Houhangai Province.

On November 29, the Mongolian government extended the period of national alert in the capital Ulaanbaatar, Selenge, Houhangai and other provinces and cities to 6:00 on December 11.

During this period, except for 18 types of industries such as electricity and water supply, strict closure measures continued to be implemented. From December 1st, the epidemic prevention and control level in other provinces has been reduced to a high level of alert.

Previously, Mongolia implemented a national alert for epidemic prevention and control since November 12.
