Ulaanbaatar, January 4 The Mongolian government announced on the 4th that it would extend the state of full civilian police in the capital Ulaanbaatar from 6:00 on the 6th to 6:00 on the 11th to deal with the continuous spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The government has decided to extend the full civilian police command in this area to 6 o’clock on the 11th, and in the upcoming 2021 Mongolian traditional festival. No gathering celebrations will be held during the White Moon Festival.

Soderbatel also said that the government is studying the feasibility of moving the whole civilian police in the capital area to a high alert state from the 11th, and the catering and service industries can gradually resume business under high alert state.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health of Mongolia on the 4th, there have been 23 new confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, of which 21 are local cases; a total of 1,286 cases have been confirmed cases, of which 829 are local cases; and 878 have been cured.

In addition, there is one COVID-19 death from a basic disease in Mongolia.

Except for Ulaanbaatar, there have been no new confirmed cases in Selenge, Gobi Sumbuir, Houhangai, Darhanula, Orkhun and Eastern Gobi provinces for many consecutive days.

In order to curb the COVID-19 epidemic, Mongolia has entered a state of full civilian police alert since November 12, 2020. Since December 1, different levels of alert will be implemented nationwide according to local conditions.

Ulaanbaatar City will be transferred from a state of full civilian police to a high alert state from December 14. For the sake of epidemic prevention and control, Ulaanbaatar City once again implemented the state of full-civilian police command from 6:00 on December 23, 2020 to 6:00 on January 6, 2021.
