by YCPress

January 9, the Ministry of Unification of South Korea said on the 8th that the South Korean government is firm in its will to implement the inter-Korean agreement.

The South Korean side has always advocated the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and lasting peace and the development of inter-Korean relations.

The Ministry of Unification made the above statement in the spokesman’s comments published on its official website on the same day.

The commentary said that the South Korean government expects inter-Korean relations to find a new starting point to promote peace and prosperity on the peninsula in the near future based on mutual trust and respect.

At the same time, the new U.S. government will come to power and will be a good opportunity to improve North Korea-US relations, and we look forward to the early resumption of North-North Korean-U.S. relations negotiations.

The 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea opened in Pyongyang on the 5th.

Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, made a summary report on the work of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea from 5 to 7.

According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 9th, the report expounds the principled position of developing relations with South Korea, that is, to unanimously suspend hostile acts against each other and earnestly implement the declaration signed between North and South Korea.

The report also said that the reinvigoration and revitalization of inter-Korean relations depends entirely on South Korea’s attitude.
