November 26, the Ministry of National Defense held a regular press conference. Ren Guoqiang, deputy director of the Information Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense and spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, answered reporters’ questions.

ReporterAccording to media reports, on November 6, the Chinese and Indian armies held military-level talks again. Please introduce the situation of the China-India border after the military commander-level talks.

Ren Guoqiang: On the 6th of this month, the Chinese and Indian militaries held the eighth military-level talks. After the meeting, the two sides issued a joint press release.

On the basis of the talks, the two sides continued to maintain frank and in-depth communication and coordination on promoting the disengagement of the actual control line in the western section of the China-India border.

The two sides agreed to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries to ensure that the front-line troops of the two sides exercise restraint and avoid misunderstandings and misjudgment.

At present, the situation in the border area between China and India has remained generally stable. China is willing to continue to maintain communication with India through military and diplomatic channels.

We hope that India and China will act opposite each other, implement the consensus of the two sides with a sincere attitude and positive actions, and jointly maintain peace and stability in the border areas.
