Medvedev: EU accusations of Russia and China spreading false information about the coronavirus epidemic are stupid and immoral

by YCPress

On December 4th, local time, Medvedev, Vice Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said on his social homepage that the European Union’s accusations of spreading false information about the novel coronavirus made it almost impossible for the two sides to engage in constructive dialogue.

On 3 December, the European Commission released the European Democratic Action Plan, which falsely claimed that the main threat to EU democracy was “disinformation” spread by Russia and China during the coronavirus pandemic.

Medvedev said, “These stupid accusations go beyond logic and common sense, even beyond good and evil. The unethical behavior of tens of millions of people (EU) is evident in view of the tragic consequences of the global pandemic that has affected the fate of tens of millions of people around the world.

Medvikiv pointed out that Russia has proved its willingness to fight the epidemic: the use of the coronavirus vaccine developed by Russian immunologists is open to the public.

Regrettably, the European Union launched a new attack on Russia, which should have joined hands to fight the epidemic, thus creating momentum for “the introduction of censorship and illegal restrictions on journalists’ activities”.

He stressed that “the EU has repeatedly tried to shape its own problems into ‘conspiracies of external enemies'”. This move damaged the image of the European Union. In this case, it is impossible for Russia to engage in constructive dialogue with its European neighbors.
