London, November 10 UK recent coronavirus outbreak has been severe. The government has stepped up its prevention and control efforts, including carrying out a city-wide test for the Coronavirus in Liverpool.

Gary Miller, the deputy mayor of Liverpool, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that China and other Asian countries have many experiences to learn from in response to the pandemic.

Miller said: “When you look at China and some other Asian countries, you can see that the number of pandemic there is maintained at a very low level, because they have an efficient detection and tracking system u2026u2026. These countries have learned a lot.”

According to data released by the British government on October 31, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the UK has crossed the threshold of one million.

In November, with the exception of the 2nd, the number of new confirmed cases in the country has remained above 20,000 in a single day. At present, the British government has implemented a wide range of “foot-free” measures in England. Between November 5 and December 2, people are required to stay at home as much as possible except for specific reasons such as going to school, buying necessities, and seeing a doctor.

At the same time, the British government began to carry out a city-wide test for the Coronavirus in Liverpool, where the pandemic was severe, from November 6. People locally or working there can be tested regardless of whether they have symptoms.

Miller went to the test site for the first time. He said: “I don’t have any symptoms, but I still want to know if I have been infected by Coronavirus. This in itself is also a respect and protection for those who have contact with me.”

According to reports, the city of Liverpool has set up a number of test points. People can make appointments online or go directly to the test points. The local government also sends test notifications to people. This large-scale inspection applied some newer rapid inspection techniques.

British Prime Minister Johnson said in a statement earlier that this pilot project will help diagnose asymptomatic infections in the city. This large-scale test is still the first attempt, and it is expected to become a powerful weapon for the UK to fight Coronavirus.

Miller said: “The impact of Coronavirus is global, and countries should work together to deal with the pandemic.” He said that in terms of vaccine research and development, British universities, especially the University of Liverpool, have established close ties with Chinese academic institutions. .
