Malaysia: 5G network service will be launched in stages at the end of 2021, the first country in the region

February 19th local time, Malaysian Prime Minister Muhiddin pointed out that by the end of 2021, people will be able to enjoy 5G technology services in stages, and Malaysia will be the first country in the region to establish a 5G ecosystem and provide real-time networks and public services.

Speaking in the “National Digital Economy Blueprint” promotional speech, Muhiddin said that 5G can not only promise faster network, but more importantly, it can allow users to use a variety of applications, including monitoring the condition of chronic patients, assisting emergencies and specially designed for elderly people living alone.

Muhiddin said that all licensed telecommunications companies will have equal access to equipment.

“These telecom companies, together, share the cost of equipment equally and can also get higher returns to provide better and cheaper 5G services to customers,” he said.
