January 18th. Recently, Japan’s Coronavirus pandemic has spread rapidly. Whether the Tokyo Olympics can be held as scheduled has become the focus of world attention.

On the afternoon of the 18th, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga once again expressed his determination to host the Olympics as scheduled when he delivered his policy speech.

He said that the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will become “the proof of mankind’s victory over the Coronavirus pandemic.”

According to a report by Japan’s “Mainichi Shimbun” on the 18th, when referring to the Tokyo Olympics, Yoshihide Suga said that he was determined to realize this grand event, bring hope and courage to the world, and prepare for this goal.

A recent poll by the Japanese media showed that 35.3% of the people interviewed believed that the Olympics should be cancelled, and 44.8% of the people believed that the Olympics should be postponed again.

In the face of Japanese people’s worries about hosting the Tokyo Olympics as scheduled, Suga Yoshihide has stated in public on many occasions that the Tokyo Olympics will be held as scheduled.

Since assuming the post of Prime Minister of Japan in September 2020, Yoshihide Suga has made the same speech on many occasions, saying that he “is determined to host the Olympics.”
