The public health department of the Madrid region of Spain announced further tightening control measures at a press conference on January 22nd local time.

Zapatero, deputy minister of public health in Madrid, warned at a press conference that the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the region in the past week has increased by 15% compared with the previous week, and the incidence of mutant viruses in the new cases is about 9%.
