The official website of the Ministry of Health of the Lebanese caretaker government announced on the 23rd that 4,176 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed and 62 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.
At present, a total of 275,587 cases have been confirmed and 2,280 deaths have been confirmed in Lebanon.
Despite the nearly month of national blockade and pandemic prevention measures implemented by the authorities, the effect has been minimal.
Lebanon has more than 60 deaths in a single day for many consecutive days, and the number of new confirmed cases is still 4,000.
It is reported that 2.1 million coronavirus vaccines purchased by the authorities from Pfizer will arrive in Lebanon from early February.
The caretaker Prime Minister Diab asked the Ministry of Health to accelerate vaccination efforts and introduce a “post-lockdown” plan and a plan to deal with mutant strains.
