Lebanese President Michel Aoun urges Parliament to promote the audit of the central bank
Lebanese President Michel Aoun urged all parliamentarians to cooperate with the government on the 24th to promote a legal audit of the central bank.
saying that all executive departments should be audited to implement the necessary reform and assistance projects to help the country out of the current crisis.
Michel Aoun stressed that the failure to audit the central bank would damage Lebanon’s international image and lead the international community to regard Lebanon as a failed country.
Subsequently, Speaker Berry announced that the plenary session of Parliament would be held on the 27th to discuss the matter.
According to media reports, on Friday, Omai decided to stop its audit of the Lebanese Central Bank because it could not obtain the necessary documents.
