On the 8th, an anti-violent rally was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. A large number of rallies surrounded the building of the Ministry of the Interior and asked the Kyrgyz Minister of the Interior and the director of the Bishkek Police to resign.

The cause of the incident was that a young woman was kidnapped by three men in downtown Bishkek on the 5th and dragged into the car and taken away. The case was immediately filed for the crime of bride robbery and the search and rescue work began. On the 7th, the kidnapped girl was found dead in a car in a suburban field. The preliminary investigation was strangled, and the kidnapper committed suicide by scratching his neck with a knife.

Immediately after the incident, it attracted widespread attention in Kyrgyzstan, especially the frequent occurrence of marriage snatching in Kyrgyzstan, which led to a large number of criminal cases. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Maripov said on the 8th that kidnapping women for the purpose of forced marriage is a crime and must be criminally punished.

As a man and father, he is very comprehensible about the tragedy in girls. Society must form a completely intolerant attitude towards this situation, and all criminals involved will be punished fairly and severely. Maripov also stressed that bride grabbing is not a tradition in Kyrgyzstan, but a crime, and all citizens need to clearly recognize it. Only when the whole society acts together can indifference to women’s basic rights be resisted.
